ARTIST STATEMENT
When I’ve got my camera in my hand, I feel like I have stepped out of my life for a brief moment. Instead of swimming in the chaotic undercurrent of life, I capture it. I see the wind by listening to the leaves, I see the light by touching the shadows. Everything becomes a theatrical play and I’m a ghost on the stage moving freely around it. I’m no longer me, but an existence in existance.
Photography is no more than an illusion to the senses. Photographs are flat representations of what was once a scene in a physical environment. They are windows into a world that has been cropped in time and space. The camera controls time, time controls me, and I control the camera. My art is explorative and observational with themes of chaos and control.
